We recently also wrote a guide on how to install the GLideN64 emulator graphics plugin, but in this article we’ll be covering installing NRage on Project64. I did a fair amount of searching around myself and what I found was quite limited at best. Most of the information I could find dated all the way back to the early 2000’s. I decided to tinker myself until I ended up figuring out how to get N-Rage setup for Project 64. Do keep in mind that the version of Project 64 that I am currently using is a nightly build that I downloaded from the official website here. I’m running Project 64 v3.0.1.5664-2df3434. Download A Different Version Of The N-Rage Plugin How To Install NRage On Project 64? These days, you really don’t need to do much to get N Rage up and running on Project 64. Back in the day, it was quite confusing and you’d have to do a decent amount of manual work. On the newest release of the N64 emulator, N-Rage comes pre-installed and it’s more of a setting that you need to enable. Enabling N-Rage on Project 64 To enable N-Rage on Project 64, you’ll want to first Click Options and then Configuration. Now that you have the Configuration menu open, you’ll want to select Plugins. On the Plugins menu, head to Input (controller) plugin and click the dropdown to reveal the choices. From the options available, you’ll want to select N-Rage For Project64. After selecting N-Rage, but sure to click the Apply button to save your changes. Then click the Ok button to return to the emulator. Do keep in mind that you may need to close and re-open Project 64 before the changes take place. You should now be good to go, however if you experience any issues with the version of N-Rage, continue reading on below to solve this. N-Rage Input Plugin v2 Not Working With Project 64 Download A Different Version Of The N-Rage Plugin Many times, issues that players experience with the N-Rage Plugin can be attributed to a version conflict between the Project 64 emulator and the version of the N-Rage plugin they are attempting to use. This can usually be resolved by simply using a different version of the N-Rage Input plugin. If you are using an older version of the N-Rage plugin, try download the latest version available. At the time of writing this article, the latest version of the N-Rage plugin available is the one that comes pre-installed with the Project 64 emulator v3.0.1.5664 -2df343. If you need to access the N-Rage input plugin separately, you can simply: Download the latest version of Project 64 from hereOpen up the Project 64 directory on your computerClick to open the Plugin folderThen open the Input folderNow you should see the PJ64_NRage.dll file which you can copy from here to your Desktop to use as you wish.If you’re using N-Rage with another version of Project 64, you’ll then need to drag the PJ64_NRage.dll file to the Project 64 Input folder of the other version of the emulator. You should then be good to go! You’re now ready to move on and setup the Project64 speed up button so that you can fast forward gameplay and cutscenes.
