Pokemon Clover

Pokemon WaterRed

Pokemon Water Red is a ROM hack with some really neat Fakemon included. There are regional variants included in the game and even Delta Pokemon with all sorts of new sprites.

This hack is based on the Pokemon Fire Red English version and in it you help out the professor of the Drosera region who asks for your assistance with some old fossils. As you progress, you find that an evil group is stealing the professor’s technology that they’re using to bring these fossils back to life.

These baddies are modifying the technology to make the Pokemon even stronger.

The game eventually becomes completely open and you really can go explore and find new and unique areas. You can beat the gyms in whichever order you choose. This game does a good job of feeling open and gives the player lots of freedom to play how they want.

Pokemon Empyrean

Pokemon Empyrean is another fan game and not a ROM hack. It too was made with RPG maker and has lots of awesome Fakemon. The story is solid, there are some cool and unique sprites, a new archetype of Berserk Pokemon, and lots of original Pokedex content.

This game looks nothing short of stunning. The Gen 3 overworld look really hits the nostalgia hard.

This fan game was originally started back in 2017 and while it did run into several roadblocks along the way, it’s now fully complete and can be played all the way through.

It’s your standard Pokemon type game where you’ll battle through gyms, catch wild Pokemon, and eventually face off against the Champion.

The story takes place in the Omuran Region where you’re on a vacation with your father. After your dad is abducted by an evil group, it’s now your job to save him.

Pokemon Dark Rising

In Pokemon Dark Rising, the game starts out with the main character sleeping and having a dream. In it, a mysterious Pokemon mentions that you’ll need to save the world.

This game has several Pokemon from different Generations up to Gen 5. There are over 300 of the original Pokemon included along with a cast of Fakemon as well.

You’ll explore lots of different areas, meet new characters, and travel the world with a Chansey who will heal your team when needed.
