Ultimate Version 8.1.0 Glitch Found That Crashes Game Twitter user and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate player linkendophoenix appears to have found a bug with the new SSBU version 8.1.0 that causes the game to crash. Players can replicate the crash on their end by simply performing a series of actions in-game while selecting a stage. While doing so, they mess around with the game’s music selection option and apparently the game bugs out and crashes completely. Yo, i found a bug that crashes smash. While selecting a stage, press y on any battlefield and play any song, pause it and then select “all”, no music will sound. Then just press a stage and the game will crash.I know this isn’t AC related but didn’t know how else to contact you— linkendo (@linkendophoenix) August 8, 2020 The steps listed below will produce the crash that will show players a message reading “The software was closed because an error occurred.”: Press “Y” on any Battlefield or Final Destination stagePlay any song to preview the trackPause this by pressing the “Y” buttonGo and select “all” from the game’s music selection screenNow go and select the stageThe game should now crashLuckily this bug only seems to be happening under these exact circumstances and for the stages mentioned above. Considering the steps needed to take to replicate the issue, it makes sense how this would slip through the cracks and make it to consoles in the last Smash Bros Ultimate 1.8.0 version update. Nintendo is likely to roll out a patch for this soon that should resolve this issue. Let us know in the comments down below if you able to replicate this bug on your end.
