Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Movie Plot Leaked

The original Sonic the Hedgehog movie ended up taking gold for the top grossing video game movie of all time. That’s no small feat – and one that many did not expect considering the movie’s initial response from fans. With Paramount Pictures already hard at work on the second Sonic movie, a Twitter user @Ninja_Risu noticed that there was a Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie copyright from Paramount Pictures and Sega. This copyright shows the plot for the upcoming movie.

If this information is accurate, it seems that the second movie will be focused more on the core characters from the Sonic games, with both Tails and Knuckles making appearances. We can also expect the Chaos Emeralds to appear as well. Take a look at what the copyright states:

After settling in Green Hills, Sonic is ready for more freedom, and Tom and Maddie agree to leave him home while they go on vacation. But, no sooner are they gone, when Dr. Robotnik comes back, this time with a new partner, Knuckles, in search for an emerald that has the power to both build and destroy civilizations. Sonic teams up with his own sidekick, Tails, and together they embark on a journey to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands. Being directed by Jeff Fowler, and starring Jim Carrey, James Marsden, and Ben Schwartz.

It seems that both Paramount and Sega realized that fans really want a more classic approach to traditional Sonic games and are working that into the second movie. Sonic and Tails will be heading off on a classic duo adventure, working to stop Dr. Robotnik and Knuckles.
