HomeReviewsFastSnail Joy-Con Grips Review Nintendo Switch FastSnail Joy-Con Grips Review Let’s face it; as awesome as the portable nature of the Nintendo Switch is and how fun it can be to just grab a Joy-Con and jump into some action, playing with a tiny Joy-Con controller isn’t the best experience. Enter FastSnail Joy-Con grips – they come in packs of two and are a controller sized holder for the Joy-Con controller. They allow your Joy-Cons to feel more like a standard controller and fit better in your hands while playing. Let’s get into this FastSnail Joy-Con grip review. Comfortability Factor Yes, these grips are just molded pieces of plastic that you slip your Joy-Con into, but they do their job pretty darn well. In terms of a standard Playstation or Xbox controller, your hands will be a bit closer together with this grip, but it is still rather comfortable and is 100% usable during long gaming sessions. Think similarly to the official Joy-Con controller that comes with the Nintendo Switch in terms of size and distance between your hands while holding. Getting the Joy-Cons in and out of this grip is a piece of cake. There’s no annoying little mechanism holding it in place that must be released or anything of the sort. These grips are also unlikely to scratch your Joy-Cons and you should have no issues long term by inserting and pulling them out. Quality The triggers on these grips are the one drawback that is worth mentioning. There is no spring mechanism in the trigger buttons, so they feel a bit stuff when pushed in. It’s not going to be similar to a standard controller’s trigger button, so do keep that in mind when considering purchasing these. That being said, these are a significant step above the tiny little trigger buttons that are on the actual Joy-Cons themselves. You will need to either remove the Joy-Cons from their grips when navigating the Nintendo Switch’s home-screen or hold the grips vertically. You will also likely have to hold these a bit differently than a standard controller because of how the Joy-Cons are setup, which at times can feel a bit awkward at first, but becomes second nature over time. If you have larger hands and find that using a Joy-Con to play Nintendo Switch games is quite cumbersome, then these FastSnail Joy-Con grips are a great buy. Their pricing is consumer friendly and they will not break the bank, but they serve their purpose quite well and will absolutely last for many gaming sessions to come.
