HomeNintendo SwitchWonder Boy: Asha in Monster World Remake Announced Nintendo News Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World Remake Announced The recently announced Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World remake finally had some gameplay footage shown during GamesCom 2020. The game will be coming to the Nintendo Switch early next year. Reactions from fans of the series was quite mixed and can be seen in the comments section of the trailer. A number of people are not happy with the visual direction of the game. Fans have been disappointed with the overall art style of the game, even going so far as to say that it is a “2.5D remake of one of the most beautiful games in the saga, and that they have ruined all the animations of Asha”. It’s difficult to judge entirely just from the trailer, but the art style definitely does seem a bit lackluster. Some textures are nice and seem well done, but others feel “out of place” and don’t really fit in with the upgraded visual aesthetic. It’s clear that the game was going for a 2D/3D overall look, but in some ways it feels like this clashes and doesn’t mesh well. It is possible that this response from fans will cause the developers to rethink the art style and go back to the drawing board, giving it more polish and work. With just how disappointed fans are and how the trailer is being received, it definitely isn’t out of the question. As of now, the developers have given no response so we will just need to wait and see where things go from here.
