Souldiers on Nintendo Switch Release Date Announced

A new 16 bit style Metroidvania game is entering the Nintendo Switch ecosystem by developer Retro Forge and publisher Dear Villagers. The game is slated to drop onto the Switch’s eshop in Spring of 2022.

In Souldiers, players start as soldiers taken off to a magical land called Terragaya, a spot that’s essentially on the verge of the afterlife. You will work to find the Guardian and progress on to the next world. Spoilers, you and your crew never actually died – it gets even crazier from here.

You’ll battle enemies, work to solve challenging puzzles, equid your character with upgrades, and adventure around exploring the world in all its glory. For fans of challenging Metroidvania titles, you’re sure to have a blast with Souldiers, because just like its name would imply, it is said to include a souls-like combat system. This includes slashing, parrying, dodging, and everything else you would expect from a souls-like game – including being challenging. Players will choose their paths as they venture through the world, going back and forth to find treasure, fight bosses, and uncover secret hidden passages.
