New Splatoon 2 Splatfest August 2020 + More Soon

Update: As of 8/19/2020, Nintendo has given us more information on the August 2020 Splatfest for Splatoon 2. Please see below for more information.

Apparently Nintendo has decided to go back on their word that they were done holding Splatfests because just today they have announced their second bonus Splatfest! This Splatfest will take place next month, August 2020. It has been announced in honor of the game’s 3 year anniversary.

The fest will once again take a crack at the class Team Mayo vs Team Ketchup matchup that we saw from May. Nintendo took to Twitter to post about the upcoming event, saying the following:

We’re taking another crack at the classic conundrum of which came first: the chicken or the egg? Get ready to pick a side when this 48-hour Splatoon 2 Splatfest begins 21/08 at 11pm (UK time)!

When is the August 2020 Splatfest?

The August 2020 Splatfest will be Saturday August 22, 2020 at 00:00 CEST. Nintendo put out the following tweet on the exact day and time for the August Splatfest:

So get ready, it’s time to fire back up your Switch and warm up those Splatoon muscles. You’ve only got one month to get back into tip top Splat shape. If you’re just jumping back in after a long hiatus, that’s okay, I’m sure it won’t take long to get back into the swing of battle. Luckily Nintendo has announced this well in advance, so you should have plenty of time to prepare.

The Splatfest will last for 48 hours as usual. This marks just the beginning apparently, as Nintendo has also stated that the Splatoon 2 community will be receiving 2 additional bonus Splatfests before March 2021 is over.
