It’s unclear why the developers decided to not include an online multiplayer mode, but it’s a real shame. There is 4 player split-screen multiplayer which is a nice touch, but with covid still being a thing, the ability for online play seems helpful. Couch co-op isn’t always a possibility and the ability to play online with friends would have really sealed the deal on this nostalgia fueled racing series classic. Don’t get me wrong, the single player experience seems great so far. I have very fond memories of playing Cruis’n USA back on the N64. I sunk hours into that game – the music, the visuals, it all had me hooked at the time. Cruis’n Blast was released in arcades back in 2017 and for many players, this is likely to best the first time they will be playing this entry in the series. The devs did a fantastic job of bringing the arcade racing genre to the Switch. bringing back some memories #cr #cruisinblast #NintendoSwitch pic.twitter.com/jracENMpKq— 💞💜💙 BiJessePyro 💕🌈 – He/Him (@JessePyroTV) September 14, 2021 All of the original 5 tracks from the arcade game are included in the Switch version with the addition of 24 extra tracks in the game’s tour mode. Each tour has its own unique theme. The game isn’t mean to be taken too seriously – it’s an arcade racing game after all, filled with quirky and zany mechanics. If you’re not someone who minds much about a lack of online play and fondly remember the original Cruis’n series on the N64, then Cruis’n Blast might be worth picking up. It retails for $40 and has received pretty solid reviews at the time of writing. Jonathan Zarra A lover of gaming and all things Nintendo, Jonathan has 20+ years of retro gaming expertise.
