Modders Put Link Into Paper Mario: The Origami King

A modder by the name of AlexByRuizZ has created an amazing mod for Paper Mario: The Origami King which puts Link into the Nintendo Switch game. From what we know, this mod works by way of modifying the game’s skin.

The game has only been out for almost a month now and modders are already doing some amazing things in the community. This version of paper Link is spot on and looks fantastic. As far as we know, this is the first time that Link has been a playable character in a Paper Mario title.

The attention to detail on the paper Link model is great and he looks spot on.

AlexByRuizZ has mentioned that since this mod is still early on, it is currently in beta and cannot be used in the entire game quite yet.

The first version of this mod was released just 7 days ago with it being version 0.2. 2 days later, the next version was released at 0.3. And just 1 day ago the latest version was released at 0.4. It appears that this mod is being actively updated and maintained at the moment. The following are the notes from their subsequent releases:

• v0.4 Added some battle animations and now you can use Fire and Ice Links with colored tunics.
• v0.3 Added confetti animations. Now you can use Link with all animations in the game except just battles/events.
• v0.2 Added all hammer animations in the game. Now you can play normally except battle animations and event animations – in this case Mario will appear.
