Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp Delayed Until Spring 2022

With the lack of info on Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp in the last Nintendo Direct, it seemed somewhat likely that Nintendo might push back the release of the title. The game was originally slated to come out on December 3, 2021, but the release window has now been pushed back until Spring 2022 (with the exact release date yet to be announced).

The reasoning for this delay is that apparently Nintendo feels Advance Wars 1+2 need “…Just a little more time for fine tuning…you’ll be battling with Andy & friends soon! Thanks for your patience.”, without any further details provided on the matter.

The game is being developed by WayForward, a capable studio indeed, the company that brought us Shantae. While delays are always somewhat of a disappointment for fans of a series, on a positive note, this does mean that Nintendo wants the title to not be released unless it meets a certain standard, which ultimately means good things for us players. It is preferable to endure a small delay and have the game be released in a state that is good rather than just pushing out a subpar game.
