Panzer Paladin is a self proclaimed “weapon smashing action platformer game with intuitive swordplay”. You can hear it for yourself by watching the game’s trailer. Panzer Paladin gameplay launch trailer You can play the game in a suit of mech armor, or eject out of it and play as the human character Flame (whose controls are much more agile and quick). The mech suit can best be described to something straight out of the Gundam series. Flame comes equipped with her own set of weapons and unique abilities. This Nintendo Switch game has a heavy retro inspired look, but definitely plays like a modern action platformer. It’s clear from the game’s trailer that the developers had a particular time period in mind when working on this title. I’m going to let you guess what particular decade they were going for with this one (hint: it’s the 80’s). The weapon options and customization in Panzer Paladin are just plain awesome. Not only can you customize your weapons, but you can flat out craft them entirely from the ground up. You use the in game tool to create whatever sort of weapon you want to wield while slaying baddies (a poseidon, fish skeleton, etc) and when you snap your weapon in half, it casts a powerful spell, destroying nearby enemies. The game also comes with its own speed-running mode out of the gate, perfect for those looking for a competitive option.
