Among Us Switch Announced in Nintendo Indie Direct

Today’s Indie Direct presentation announced that Among Us is officially dropping onto the Nintendo Switch today! The response from the Nintendo community has been positive, as expected. Among us has taken the internet by storm, with many flocking to the game as a fun yet wacky means of connecting with the current pandemic.

In the game, 1 to 2 players play as “imposters”, working to sneakily kill the other crew members before they are able to complete all of their tasks. The other crew members must work together to finish their tasks, all while butting heads to vote out the players that they think are imposters.

The game is always a wild time and never seems to disappoint. To this day, I find myself going back to it and having all sorts of fun with randoms. It’s unclear if the exact same mechanics will be present in the Switch version of the game (text chat) considering Nintendo’s usual stance on communication between players, but it seems likely as this is a key component to the game’s experience.

This was an absolute surprise to everyone and it definitely wasn’t expected to be dropped today. It’s awesome that the game has made its way to the Nintendo Switch and now we’re in for a whole new way to play Among Us. Will you be getting “sus” and picking up a copy of Among Us for your Switch?
