If you’re unaware, Raid Battles traditionally have players teaming up to battle giant, powerful Pokémon. Pokémon GO was the first game of the series to have raid battles, but since then, Pokémon Sword and Shield on Switch have heavily incorporated the mechanic. The Pokemon Company has released an official trailer video showcasing how it works. Teams of four players will all choose two Pokemon cards each and decide on a boss Pokemon Card to fight against. The boss card will have 20 separate attack cards, 5 cheer cards, four knock out counters, a coin, damage counters, and a mat to play on. Most trading card game enthusiasts will have most of this already, but if you don’t, there’s no need to fret! On the Pokemon website, they’ve got everything you need to get started.
