The game is currently downloading onto my Switch as I type. The game became available at 9PM PST here in the states. Already, fans of the series are discussing the gameplay mechanics on Reddit. Comment from discussion DMGUp’s comment from discussion "I got my copy of Paper Mario early! Played a few hours and it’s great so far.". With so many reviews dropping online yesterday, the hype for the Origami King has been building. Many are excited to learn more about how the story unfolds, interested to try out the new battle mechanic system, and wondering what the deal is with that confetti bag? The return of the allies is awesome and there has been news that a sort of XP system does in fact exist. To what extent the XP plays a role in the battle system remains to be seen. The game has some heavy Color Splash similarities (colored pencil case boss), but it appears to be different enough to be unique in its own way.
