Not going to argue with you on this, it is strange to me as well that the Nintendo Wii even had Netflix yet the Switch doesn't. You can still use apps like Youtube, Hulu, etc, but as of now there is still no netflix App on the Switch for some reason.
I have a theory as to why this is, although I can't prove it or anything. When the wii launched, Netflix was still in the beginning stages of the company's lifespan. It was a smart move for them to target the Wii as it sold tremendously well and at that time, allowed the company to get in front of many home television sets. As technology advanced, Netflix grew, and eventually spread to just about every type of device imaginable. While I still think it is strange that Netflix hasn't released an official app for the Switch considering how well the device has sold (I forget how many million units have sold at this point), I think they aren't viewing being on the Switch with the same level of importance as they likely saw the Wii as an opportunity.
Netflix is huge now and they are on the PS4 and Xbox One, so I'd imagine they would be on the Switch too. It isn't clear why they haven't made an appearance on the Nintendo Switch yet, but perhaps we will see them sometime or another. As for now, I recommend the Youtube app. It's done well, has a nice UI, the quality is good, and you can get stuck watching random videos for hours.
