Today, the Pokemon Company announced during a presentation that they are working on a Pokemon Snap 2 game for the switch! This came out of left field for a lot of fans of the series - the last game was released on the N64!
I am beyond hyped for this game and can't wait for it to come out. I'm not entirely sure when it will be releasing. I remember playing the original game back on the N64 and have given it a thorough playthrough multiple times in my life. The puzzle aspect of the game always kept it fresh and I found myself wanting to better my point scores from Professor Oak and replaying levels multiple times to try and do just that.
FINALLY it's happening folks. Pokemon Snap is returning and the classic N64 game is evolving (pun intended) and on its way to the Switch.
To be fair, we don't know a whole lot about the new version or what it will exactly entail just yet, but it is being developed by a team over at Bandai Namco.
For anyone who may not already be familiar with the series, you travel to various different locations in the Pokemon universe, tasked by Professor Oak to take pictures of Pokemon (building your very own pokedex of sorts). You visit jungles, beaches, rivers, etc.
Nintendo themselves stated "This brand-new game brings the gameplay of the 1999 Pokémon Snap game for the Nintendo 64 system to life on the Nintendo Switch system with unknown islands to discover and different Pokémon to see!" - which leads me to think that this may in fact be a remaster, but I am not 100% just yet.
No release date specified by the folks over at Nintendo just yet, but you can rest assured that as soon as one is, I'll let you guys know here!
