ah dang....quite a few people are saying that for this one....its one of the least popular pokemon games....but its 80% cuz of the dex cut and 20% cuz of the "graphics are bad" arguement. which i understand but tbh i get why its like that.

Oh but dude, if you have a phone/tablet that can use Wi-Fi you can still use Pokémon Home! I swear it's really useful

I never said it was bad. I said that it's improved by a wifi connection more than some games.

Actually, as long as you aren't hanging out in the Wild Area too much, or using Pokemon that evolve by trade such as Pumpkaboo or Machoke, no internet for SWSH should serve you just fine.

The more I think about it I can't think of very many Pokémon games that don't have a cool feature that you need either internet or other nearby players for. The Festival Plaza in Alola, Secret Bases in Hoenn, random people and Pokémon helping you with O-powers and Pokémon Amie as well as the friend safari in Kalos, and going back 15 years (and 3 weeks in the future) there's the Sinnoh Underground. I never figured out the C-Gear and Dream World in Unova, but I eventually realized it would have added a lot.

So in Galar, the real advantage of internet is a wider variety of Max Raid Battles. But you can honestly play through the entire game without doing a single one, be that by yourself or with another person.

Hi potatoers, even though I'm not available at the moment I thought I'd let you know that I like SWSH and my favorite thing to do on it is raids, especially the raid events they used to do monthly.

Just cause I like it when people interact with my messages even when the answer is no, so hopefully you feel the same way.

I was actually very disappointed with bdsp. Got it on launch day

It's definitely worth getting if you haven't played the originals, and it actually looks nicer than SWSH in the battles...but not in the overworld. It gives access to many Pokemon that SWSH doesn't, which can be worth it on its own for some people.
It's not a bad port, but it's far more of a port than a remake. For everything it adds, it takes something away, and/or leaves you thinking "okay that's a little better but why didn't they do it this obviously even better way?"
It plays like the developers went "Ok we have to remake diamond and pearl" and then only played diamond and pearl for inspiration. Didn't take a look at any of the new improvements added in Platinum, or SWSH, or BW, or ORAS,

I guess my final point is even though I'm unhappy with it I'd rather have it than not have it, and there's definitely a lot to enjoy if you've never played DPPt.
