Unfortunately it feels like it came out too close to Splatoon 2 and got largely ignored compared to other 1st party multiplayer games
I agree, ARMS was hindered at launch for multiple reasons and never fully recovered despite it getting a ton of changes and new content and a dedicated community backing it. It's still very much alive though. 🙂

It's pretty uncommon, but there are a handfull of very talented players who use it
I am far from “very talented,” but I feel I’ve gotten a lot better since the game was first released
I generally love motion controls when well-implemented, which they almost always are in Nintendo’s first party games
Yeah Nintendo does some pretty banging motion
