Well it works in a couple different ways
There's the basic multiplayer with squads and such
That can be found automatically depending on your settings
Theres also conclave which is a fancy way of saying pvp
I don't recommend that for new players because it could get pretty overwhelming at times
There are blueprints for most of the important items but most times you can buy bluprints in the shop for credits
I recommend checking the wiki if you're looking for a specific item
You have to build each warframe
Some can be obtained by just doing missions like the limbo theorem but others can be farmed pretty easily in boss fights
for example Rhino from the Jackel
That's just what I was about to say lol
Don't worry they're eady as long as you stay within your skill level or tag along with a more skilled player
Sometimes lower level players will want to get items from a planet they don't have access to yet so they would ask for an escort from a player that has it unlocked. As long as you beat that level you basically unofficially unlocked the planet. That's called a taxi by the community I believe

for example, my favourite place to level new weapons is a waved based mission on a certain planet, you dont get there till much later but i had a friend bring me there many times
Also here's a tip. Go to the shop and type FREESWORD into the "Reedeem Code" section and you'll get a free heat sword. It's not the best sword all in all but for a new player it's not too bad

Don't forget to apply mods to your gear. Mods are very important
