They don't feel much better than great balls to me
But if that glitch only works with ultras.. maybe
well, with that glitch you'd only ever need pokeballs
i used a crappy normal pokeball on a Jiggly with a red critical circle and caught it while also completely missing the inside of the red circle
Great Ball is 1.5x Regular Poke Ball Catch Rate, Ultra Ball is 2x
But that can change depending on level and such, that's why I used to be a firm believer that Greats were better than Ultras.

The catchrates don't change, they all get affected by the same formula
I beg to differ, but I don't know much about it to actually dispute this.
Maybe I phrased that poorly, but what I mean is that in the same situation, whether at full health or 1HP, status or no, an ultra ball is always twice as good as a pokeball, and a great ball is halfway between those two
the best time to throw the ball in core games is when they're above 1/5 health but below 2/3
it has a specific formula, taco, that can change rates
