cant wait to accidently launch my joy con at the screen while trying to catch something

that's gonna be a thing again after the good ol' wiimote (aka destroyer of flat tv's) times

a bigger concern is going to be the amount of switch tossed when trying to catch a pokemon while playing in handheld...

i remember them saying something in the lines of having handheld but no motion

nope you still need to use motion to aim just press a button to throw the ball if i remember correctly

"In handheld mode with both Joy-Con attached - you are still required to move around to aim, but you press a button to throw the Pokéball."

oh, so it is going to be a switch tossing festival in the end! noooice

Just throw your switch directly at your tv instead of just the joycon

Just got Mario Party and I agree that it's very annoying not to have handheld

...wtf. After losing all 40 of my ultra balls, and at least 50 of my pokeballs on Zapdos... Articuno goes down in like 5 pokeballs. Maybe this system isn't as broken as I thought

Its easier in handheld, but if you'd prefer a better chance and higher EXP yield I suggest a two-player encounter with you using both Joy-Cons.

So I've heard. I was trying both times in handheld mode. Either Zapdos was just moving a lot more, or I got lucky/unlucky

It's stupid that the motion controls are required in docked
especially when playing in handheld has performance issues

Oh I thought that was just me or something, I noticed even as early as Viridian Forest in some places, it felt a bit slow 😮

because pokemon SuMo had horrible parts where that would happen

and you know how sometimes during battles you’ll select your attack and the game doesnt do anything for a while sometimes? (as if its focusing on cutscenes or something)

SuMo did that too but it also lagged and took look 10x the waiting time (thats what it felt like)

I definitely remember all of those issues. I'm glad it runs better, but maybe all those 'mons in the overworld sometimes lag the game. And also that smoke in Koga's gym
