cant wait to accidently launch my joy con at the screen while trying to catch something

that's gonna be a thing again after the good ol' wiimote (aka destroyer of flat tv's) times

a bigger concern is going to be the amount of switch tossed when trying to catch a pokemon while playing in handheld...

i remember them saying something in the lines of having handheld but no motion

nope you still need to use motion to aim just press a button to throw the ball if i remember correctly

"In handheld mode with both Joy-Con attached - you are still required to move around to aim, but you press a button to throw the Pokéball."

Just throw your switch directly at your tv instead of just the joycon

Just got Mario Party and I agree that it's very annoying not to have handheld

I like doing things out of order when I can =P

Maybe they just couldn't decide on the order. Since you can technically go down Cycling Road (I mean, "Pokemon Road") as soon as you beat Erika's gym and the rocket hideout, instead of going back to Saffron and doing the Silph Co building

True true... the pacing is a bit weird though, since you beat Erika, do the rocket hideout, then do lavender tower, then go back to fight team rocket AGAIN, before finally doing Sabrina's gym, or going south to Koga's gym.

That's a looong time between the fourth and fifth badge, with a lot of team rocket shenanigans in between, after which, they're barely heard from again, until the final badge
