I got about halfway through as a teen, maybe less? And then stopped playing because the backtracking was taking too long. But maybe it was just too early for me. I'd probably enjoy it now, since I've played (and loved) all the other 2D Metroids
Prime made feel isolated and scared. But that might be because I’m more scared of shooters than I am 2d platforming

They were on a slippery slope after releasing Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog, but Sonic '06 was the final nail in the coffin. Sonic will never come back from that
Remember how hype it was when Sonic was added to Brawl? That seemed like something that would never ever happen over a decade ago. Now it’s kind of taken for granted he’s there.
