Well, PS4 has a voice chat (where you don't actually need that stupid app), so it's all good
My headset doesn't work with my phone for a reason, so rip me
But honestly, the fact that you can't even send pms to people in your friend list is unacceptable, when I meet good Monster Hunter players and I add them in order to play more with them....well....I can't actually talk to them lol
I saw people using their Discord tag as online names to help
I did that too, but it doesn't usually work
