As long as lots of people buy Mario 3D All Stars before the time comes; you'll still at least able to buy the game pre-owned/used from other people cheap, unless people decided to make their copies as "rare collectibles".
On the other hand, it's probably gonna encourage people to buy the original games for their respective consoles, which I don't think it's a bad thing or anything, in my opinion; if people really wished for new ports or remasters of SM64, Sunshine and Galaxy; then this is probably it.
Which kinda reminds me of a similar incident with a game which had a limited physical release for consoles.
