They don't really have much of an agenda
Other than "do what the other guys are doing, and make money"
They just don't know how to do what the other guys are doing.
They don't care they know once pokemon and smash release numbers will go back up
problem is that they are not even "doing what the other guys are doing"
if they did, we'd have a "decent" online
PokeMon's online component is tiny
They're probably getting more subscriptions off of cloud saves than anything else

I know people that are stupidly gonna start paying once pokemon is out
Honestly it's not a big hit to me though since I've always found playing online on consoles kind of awkward, and that's tenfold on Switch because there's no text or voice chat.

Yep, but then we have smash. And if the online is similar to the one of the precedent games I am expecting a huge backslash
They'll essentially be forced to include real servers

But then they'll be like "We understand the backlash and we're working on it" a month later

The saddest part is they probably honestly won't get the backlash, because they don't see any basic online features as necessary
