If Pokemon Sword & Shield got delayed to holiday 2020 but would include all Pokemon, animations and features across the previous games-would you care and will it sell big because of it?

Pokemon is grossing across multiple avenues-Anime/Cartoons,Cards,games,merchandise but the mainline games are no longer making the money for them it seems. My question is why were Sun/Moon(Ultra) and Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee far less successful than Yellow/Blue/Red/Silver/Gold when the fanbase has obviously grown since 1996-1999?

I think Pokemon Go and it's success sparked the sudden shift in focus. It's making them money.
