@Eagleflies14 sorry to hear what happened to your switch. Few things: according to multiple sources, every update on switch will burn a micro fuse to prevent downgrade by comparing the supposed number of fuses to the actual number on boot.
If your controller was licensed, then the argument they said about being a third party device to burn your switch is bs from a rep that didn't want to do their work; a licensed item complies with their standards and its supposed to be safe. If it's not, then THEY are at fault by not controlling what are they licensing. Call them by phone, instead of mailing to speak to a rep personally.
In the end, consider writing a letter to Nintendo, at least in America they are known for taking care of their customers, so all what's happening to you could be only bad luck with a rep from the company.
